WEEK 14 - PHOTOSHOP VERSION

CRAFT: To create these images, I took a picture of myself that had already been taken and isolated it using the magic wand tool, the magnetic lasso tool, and the polygonal lasso tool. Using the move tool, I took the isolated image of myself and moved it to different photos of Chicago that I have taken. I then adjusted the size of the image of myself by going to Image and then Image Size. Using the mouse and Shift, I changed the size of my figure in all of the images so that it was the correct size. I then went to Image, Adjustments, and then Black/White to change the background layer to black and white.

CONCEPT: When looking at these images, I wanted the viewer to think about the city of Chicago.

COMPOSITION: When looking at these images, I wanted the viewer to focus on the scenes of the city, both old town and new town. The three rules for my story are that they all take place in the city of Chicago, I am in all of the pictures, and all of the pictures have the same colors.

To enter the website click Here.

CRAFT: To put these images into web format, I first changed the image size by making the resolution 72 d/inch., the width equal or less than 1024 pixels, and the height width or less than 768 pixels. I then changed the images to JPEG format. I then followed theses steps to create my web page.
1. Opened a new document in Dreamweaver and selected Create.
2. I saved the document as page-01-sd.html.
3. I selected Insert and then Image.
4. I named each image and selected Open.
5. I selected Format-Align-Center.
6. I selected Modify and then Page Properties.
7. I changed the appearance to html.
8. I changed the background to black and the text to white.
9. I saved these changes.
10. I selected Save As and changed the title to page-02-sd.html.
11. I then deleted my first image and inserted the second.
12. I continued to do that until I reached the 10th image.
13. I selected Save All.
14. I then linked all of the images together.
15. I selected Save All again.
16. All of these images were saved to a folder on my desktop. I put this folder onto my flashdrive and gave it to Professor Peck to put on the website entitled, www.sxuhero.com

CONCEPT: When viewing the images, I wanted the viewer to think about a story of a boy and a girl going to Fright Fest at Six Flags and getting scarred by a figure that they thought was not real.

COMPOSITION: When viewing the images, I wanted the viewer to focus on the people in the story and their experience.

Week 11-COLORFUL FRAMES

CRAFT: To create these images, I first drew them with pencil onto blank printer paper. I then scanned the images and painted them in Adobe Photoshop. I used the paintbrush tool along with the eraser tool to create the images.

CONCEPT: When viewing this story, I wanted the viewer to think about the story that each frame is telling and be able to decipher what the story is about without the use of words.

COMPOSITION: When viewing the images, I wanted the viewer's eyes to go to the characters and objects in the story. I didn't want the viewer to be distracted by colors. This is why the colors of the images are all in the same family of blue.

WEEK 10 - 10 WEIRDOS

CRAFT: To create these images my classmates and I dressed up in costumes. We set up different color back drops and conducted a photo shoot. I dressed up as a nurse and acted out different scenes as a nurse.

CONCEPT: When looking at these images, I wanted the viewer to think about the actions of a nurse and to think about the humor and laugh at the images.

COMPOSITION: I wanted the viewer to see images of a nurse acting out activities that are common and uncommon to nurses.

WEEK 9 - 10 FRAMES

CRAFT: To create these images I drew with pencil onto white printer paper. I then scanned these images into Adobe Photoshop.

CONCEPT: When the viewer sees the images, I want them to think about the story that they are telling. The story of my friend and I going to Fright Fest and becoming scared by a man in a costume.

COMPOSITION: I wanted the viewer to see the images of people and things in them and be able to put them together into a story.
